  • When do you offer Reformer Sessions?
We hold Reformer Sessions all week long at times throughout the day. Simply send an email or stop by to check availability. We try our best to accommodate schedules. Email: totalbalancelife@gmail.com
  • What if I have to miss a scheduled Reformer Session?
We ask for 24 hours advanced notice to change or cancel a Reformer Session. Space is limited and in demand and we appreciate the chance to fill your spot.
  • Can I work around injured muscles on the Reformer?
Pilates Reformer can be an excellent rehabilitative exercise option for muscle injury and repair! Contact Julie to discuss a customized plan.
  • What's the difference between Mat and Reformer Pilates?
Both types of Pilates emphasize core work and stability. Mat Pilates utilize body weight for resistance (and sometimes free weights), while the Reformer utilizes springs and pulleys for resistance training. Mat Pilates requires mindful focus on core engagement and form, whereas Reformer Pilates automatically supports proper form. Pilates Reformer promotes a greater range of motion, and Mat Pilates promotes additional focus. Mat Pilates can be more challenging for people with back soreness, but modifications are always available.
  • Do I have to take all 8 weeks of the same group class?
No! Group Classes are mix and match and include Mat Pilates, Tabada, Step Aerobics, Spin and Barre Pilates. Yoga, Bootcamp and Pilates Reformer Sessions are not mix & match.
  • What is the best class to take for a beginner?
All classes are beginner friendly and all exercises have modifications to make them easier for new clients! All classes have a variety of fitness levels participating at any given time. No experience, No problem!
  • What if I have a vacation planned during Boot Camp?
We love vacations! We try to offer makeup classes regularly throughout the session to accommodate absences. Once boot camp is over, it's over! No makeups available after the last class.
  • Do you have to be in shape to do boot camp?
No! All fitness levels are welcome and encouraged to participate! Boot Camp can seem intimidating, and it is definitely challenging, but we offer modifications for all exercises, and everything can be customized to suit your pace.
